Editech Staffing
Candidate screening

Potential Editech employees must successfully complete a rigorous qualification process that includes the following:

Reference checks

Resumes received at Editech undergo an initial screening to determine the degree to which each applicant’s capabilities match our company’s and our clients’ needs. A staff member then contacts applicants to verify details about their employment preferences and to obtain contact information for three supervisory references. Our company policy requires these references before candidates can be assigned to any client project.

We also engage the services of an outside agency to conduct drug testing when required for specific positions.

Online and hard-copy testing

Editech uses a comprehensive skills evaluation system to test applicants on more than twenty of the most commonly used software programs. The system also includes tests for special skills, such as accounting, administrative support, legal terminology, medical terminology, data entry, typing, spelling, and so on.

Editorial personnel must successfully complete proofreading, copyediting, and substantive editing tests before performing similar jobs for clients. These tests were specially commissioned by Editech and have proven to be an excellent gauge of editorial skills. Candidates for writing and desktop design positions are also asked to bring in portfolios of their work for review by our staff members.

Internal interview evaluations

Each applicant is interviewed and evaluated by at least two Editech staff members, who then make recommendations regarding the most suitable assignments for the candidates. Those who are approved through our screening process have a superior blend of technical and interpersonal skills—just the qualities you're looking for in publication and office support staff.
